Wealth Finance comprises of over 100 finance professionals and carries out a variety of roles across the jurisdictions our businesses operate in. Our primary responsibilities include applying our specialist skills, knowledge and expertise to support the strategic vision of our underlying businesses. The Planning and Executive Reporting team in Wealth Management is aimed at providing finance support to the Wealth ExCo, and being the touch point for all RBS Group Finance interaction with Wealth .
Background
The Planning and Executive Decision Support team within Finance is responsible for providing key financial insight to the executive management team as well as driving and influencing performance ! so as to achieve the strategic goals. As Executive Decision Su! pport Manager, you'll work closely with the divisional Finance Director, senior management across the business and play a significant role in representing the division in to RBS Group.
Purpose of the role:
Senior member of the divisional planning and executive reporting team within the central, divisional finance team
Provide expert financial over-sight for the consolidated Wealth division
Development and delivery of insightful reporting analysis on behalf of the division: including detailed presentations, graphical analysis and added-value commentaries
Responsible for the delivery of the analytics within monthly divisional management accounts and monthly reporting packs to the divisional Executive Committee
Responsible for the development and delivery of a robust rolling forecast process for the Division
Leads definition of consistent performance metrics to be used across the division
Responsible for! the delivery of reporting the divisionâs quarterly results externally, providing relevant analysis and commentary
Key liaison point for the business-aligned Finance teams
Key point of liaison with Group Finance Planning and Analysis (GFP&A) and divisional Risk teams
Participation on a number of group workshops and discussion forums, ensuring the views of the divisionâs finance community are represented
Support the Planning and Forecasting processes and develop and implement cover arrangements across the Planning and executive reporting teams.
Deliverables:
Robust and independent challenge & review of divisionâs financial performance
Quality service in support of all matters of management information delivery (fixed and ad-hoc)
Maintenance of good, strong communication lines all Finance teams
Proven pro-activity in seeking improvements in the way solutions are delivered
Complie! s with relevant Group Policies, testing and certifying (or considers an! d escalates) the adequacy and effectiveness of the businessâ controls on a regular basis
Establishes and documents (or follows and/or maintains) operating procedures which include relevant controls to meet Group and local policy requirements
Establishes cross process working practices between planning and reporting to deliver robust coverage arrangments and maximise resource capacity
Experience:
Experience in banking / financial services industry.
Good knowledge of banking and wealth management products, systems and processes preferable.
Ability to work on complex issues, providing solutions and recommendations often working to tight deadlines.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the organisation.
Good understanding of the value of financial and non-financial Management Information and its uses.
Excellent written and verbal communica! tion skills.
Technical Knowledge:
Professional Accountancy qualification, other relevant professional qualification or comparable, relevant work experience history.
Degree level education preferable.
Spreadsheet modelling and quality presentational skills are key.
People Management:
Ability to work with and obtain financial information from colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
Strong emphasis on matrix management â" being able to manage peopleâs time and output who do not directly report into the central divisional finance team.
Manage the close relationship with shared service functions â" aiming to ensure provision of quality, accurate data from for use in all consolidated MI analysis work.
Contribution to manage the teamâs resource and workload â" delivering short and long-term solutions for task delivery throughout the working year.
