What we're looking for
We're looking for passionate, talented technologists who have significant experience in taking a leading role in the delivery of web solutions, whether this is as a technical lead (e.g. architect) or team lead (e.g. scrum master).
The role will involve spending a large proportion of time at client sites so flexibility with location is essential.
Example responsibilities (exact responsibilities dependant on role and level)
Taking a leading role in architecting and developing enterprise level dynamic web applications such as media portals, content management systems, e-commerce sites or banking portals. ·
Working directly with client Product Owners or other stakeholders to understand product requirements and translate these into designs and User Stories, ensuring that Product Owners and developers bo! th understand what is to be built.
Leading the integration of established 3

party services such as video content management solutions, web analytics or commercial transaction service providers
Qualifications
Typical skills of successful applicants
Front End Web Developer
Essentials:
Expert, hands-on knowledge of HTML(5), CSS(3), OO JavaScript, AJAX and XML
Strong experience with JavaScript libraries such as jQuery etc.
Experience translating comps and wireframes into flexible and usable code templates
Excellent understanding of cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility issues
Adherence to web standards and best practices
Software development methodologies, e.g. waterfall, agile
Other Desirable Skills:
Experience developing for multiple devices such as mobile and tablets - including responsive design
Dynamic CSS technologies ! such as Sass or Less Experience with source/version control software su! ch as SVN & Git
Understanding of some server side languages such as PHP or Java
Back End Web Developer
Essentials:
Excellent understanding of server side web technologies including:
One or more web aligned languages such as Java or PHP
Templating technologies such as JSPs, Freemarker & Velocity
MVC frameworks such as Spring, Play, Zend or Cake
Object/Relational mapping technologies such as Hibernate, Active Record etc.
Experience working with Enterprise and / or open source CMS systems such as Drupel, Wordpress or Adobe CQ5
Web services technologies, techniques and transport mechanisms including REST, SOAP, WSDL, XML and JSON
Databases & SQL skills using MySQL, Oracle or an equivalent RDMS
Software development methodologies, e.g. waterfall, agile
Other Desirable Skills:
Working knowledge of HTML, XHTML,CSS, JavaScript
Experience with sou! rce/version control software such as SVN & Git
Professional skills
Proven success working in team-orientated environments
Proven problem solving and analytical abilities
Desire to work in an information systems environment
Experience of leading a team
