To deliver a professional and proactive Employee Relations (ER) HR service to the core centralised Thomas Cook Plc functions of Group, ECE and IT supporting the strategic objectives of the business. To work as an i! ntegral part of the HR team to partner with the business to deliver people activities that result in improved business performance. To provide support and build ER capability of the wider HR team and to be the go-to ER specialist for these diverse and Senior populations
Accountabilities:
To provide strong ER content at all levels of Seniority - (Restructures and change programmes, Complex Consultations, TUPE, Policies and Group Forum, Performance Management, Employee Management)
Develop and deliver effective ER HR tools and support for all employees in the business
Deliver inspirational and consistent ER leadership to the HR Team, providing effective coaching, guidance and support when required
Keep self and team updated with current trends and knowledge within the ER discipline to build team capabilities implement related new ideas and initiatives accordingly. Build and maintain a Group High Risk tracker or other âlearning f! rom experienceâ tool
Maximise effectiveness of chan! ge programmes (and minimise risks) by engaging in business reorganisations at the earliest stage, providing support and challenging where appropriate. Ensure compliance to legislation and contribute to transition strategies and communication.
Review, refine and embed HR policies and processes to ensure they remain fit for purpose and in line with all current legislation in conjunction with UKHR - Liaises with HR Managers in the wider TC UK HR team to share best practice and ensure consistency of approach in line with TC values. Advise line managers on policies and procedures and coaching and training on all people management aspects
Ensure the robust, proactive and timely delivery of development activities including performance management, talent, career planning
Take pro-active steps to monitor and improve labour turnover, and absence, encouraging the retention of talent and positive attendance.
Drive exceptional customer service interna! lly and externally, enhancing the reputation of the centralised groups
Build relationships with people at all levels of the business, acting in a business partnering role and role modelling CoC.
Provide HR MI to the business to support decision making.
Set up and run an effective Group VOICE forum. Ensures that all consultation meetings take place in line with policy and business needs and that the forum maximises Engagement opportunities
Ensure methods of 'people' related communication are timely, effective and appropriate
Encourage and coaches collaborative working across the business (within core functions and within TCUK and within wide TC community)

Prerequisite knowledge, Skills & Experience:
General person spec:
Technology (preferably web) sector experience â" a savvy user of leading edge ITâ¢
Strong communication skills, persuasive communicator

Self motivated, able to work autonomously with minimum supervision and to maintain standards under pressure

Competent user of Outlook 2010 - Excel, Word, Powerpoint. SAP HR
