The successful candidate will be working as a member of the SharePoint team within the Global Systems Group (GSG).

We are looking for an innovative and creative developer for the new cutting edge Arup SharePoint 2013 based platform.

Using your experience of developing with JavaScript, JQuery and other Ajax frameworks for SharePoint client side type development, you will be able to produce applications by “mashing up” SharePoint and other webservices.

You will enjoy learning new things and will be enthusiastic about the potential of coding for SharePoint 2013 and Office365; preparing to learn the “Apps” model of development.

Projects stem from a variety of sources so expect to be developing applications for engineers, human resources, finance and other areas of Arup. Work is managed using the Agile SCRUM methodology so you will need to report on your progress during daily stand-ups.
The Global Systems Group comprises! of teams in London, Newcastle, Cardiff, Leeds, Melbourne, Syd! ney, Brisbane, Toronto, Los Angeles, Seattle, Dubai and Hong Kong. GSG also manage a team of staff in India. The Group’s activities include development, support and maintenance of a range of engineering, CAD, document-management, financial and HR software, as well as other in-house software systems which are provided to internal and external clients. Some of GSG’s software is sold externally through its commercial software house Oasys Ltd. GSG is 100% computerised and makes extensive use of voicemail, video conferencing and email communications. You may be required to travel and represent the business in other offices. Role
You will work closely with other team members, and other Arup Groups.
You may also work closely and have regular contact with product owners or internal clients.

Duties will include:

• Designing and developing applications
• Producing documentation
• Assisting in the deployment and third level support ! of applications that you have developed during their warranty period
• R&D into solutions
• Third line support

The post-holder will be in daily contact with members of GSG and other staff within Arup. Requirements

Working knowledge of following are essential:

• Visual Studio 2010
• JavaScript
• SharePoint 2010
• JQuery
• Windows Server 2008 R2
• Virtual machines
• Webservices
• Powershell
• In addition experience of the following would be desirable:
• SharePoint 2013
• HTML5
• Office365
• FAST
• MVC/MVVM
• Knockout.js
• User experience design

You will have at least three years previous experience in the development and implementation of SharePoint 2010 applications, and preferably have an IT-related degree
