Cisco Communications Technician (BAU) for a contract opportunity, with strong knowledge of Cisco IOS and extensive knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications 7 & 8+ required by Global Inv! estment Bank to join their Communications team based in the City of London.
It is essential that you have previous experience of working in an Investment Bank or major Buy Side institution.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a prestigious Investment Bank in a contract to permanent role.
The Cisco Engineer will be providing day to day support for the bank's voice systems, and for the bank's LAN, WLAN, WAN & Firewalls.
You will be required to proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve performance and connectivity issues, and ensure documentation and procedures are always up to date.
Performing routine status checks and problem identification, then producing reports and root cause analysis will be required.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Cisco IOS vital
- Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications 7+ & 8+
- In depth working knowledge of the Cisco product range, in particular Catalyst 6500, 4510 and 3750 !
- In depth working knowledge of Palo Alto, Cisco and CheckPo! int security platforms
- Knowledge of network security best practises
- Working knowledge of contact centre technologies
- Working knowledge of video technology
- Working knowledge of voice recording systems
- Working knowledge of communications monitoring systems
- Cisco qualifications CCNP or CCVP
To provide day to day support for the communications environment.
- Provide day to day support for all Dealer board & Speakerbus Systems
- Provide day to day support for the banks voice recording platform
- Provide day to day support for the banks LAN, WLAN, WAN & Firewalls
- Proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve performance & connectivity issues
- To ensure stability of all network & voice systems
- To ensure documentation and procedures are always up to date
- To perform routine status checks and produce reports.!
- To perform problem identification and root cause analysis
- Be an important member of the global team.
- Ensure all Project time is recorded onto SharePoint & submitted weekly
- Maintain and review configuration data (e.g. User lists, asset register etc.)
- Travel may be necessary
- Provide on call support and work extended hours as and when required
- Patch systems when required to policy and architectural standards
