The successful candidate will work on a Menswear Garment Technologist-6 month contract in the London headquarters. They will be responsible for ensuring that all the products consistently meet t! he quality expectations of our client's customers. They will support the buyers in product development to deliver the most exciting, Fashion forward product from the most dynamic supply base. The successful candidate will ensure that all testing and legal requirements are met on each product. They will also be responsible for ensuring on time delivery of perfect products within the time frames set out.
The candidate working on the Garment Technologist-6 month contract role will work with the buyers to develop a product range that delivers value for money to the customers and fulfils agreed quality standards with budget targets. During this time, they will build and maintain supplier relationships. They will assist the Customer Service Department with all customer complaints requiring resolution on quality and ensure they are resolved. Additionally, they will be involved in the management of returns data on a quarterly basis, following up on improvements and changes made! to products. The successful candidate will also ensure all go! ld seals are correct, labelled with details and spec and submitted to MK QC manager in time for 1st deliveries.
Additionally, the candidate will ensure that all product measures and fits are consistent across product ranges and are in line with key competitors. They will be responsible for ensuring consistency across product ranges and are in line with key competitors. Furthermore, they will be responsible for ensuring consistency in grading across products and updating specs with formulas accordingly, maintaining accurate specs. They will ensure with suppliers that products meet construction, customer care and safety standards. The Garment Technologist-6 month contact role will also be responsible for ensuring that all fabric spec details are correct for each product and the relevant testing is approved to standards. They will manage the set up of workbooks and manufacturing requirements standards for each product. They will manage projects set up by Head of Tech to im! prove quality, fit and performance. They will ensure an accurate critical path is set up and maintained throughout the seasons to ensure on time delivery along with perfect quality.
Who we're looking for
- Our client, a leading retailer, based in London is looking for someone to fill the Menswear Garment Technologist-6 month contract who has a background of work in a similar role, having worked in a mail order and retail business with experience in dealing with Far East and European suppliers.
- They will have a sound knowledge of garment fitting and garment construction across wide product ranges within menswear.
- They will have a sound knowledge of pattern construction/alteration across wide product ranges and the ability to grade within excel
- They will have a sound knowledge of textiles and textile testing
- They will have knowledge of managing quality standards in order to meet specific budget targets
- They! will be confident to run a fit session and inform Buyers of production! capabilities and suggest alternative technical methods for construction.
- They will have an ability to work with others, and cope with conflicting demands that may sometimes arise as part of the job role
- They will have an enthusiastic approach to projects and daily duties with an ability to adapt
- They will have a thorough understanding of production processes.
