Our client is a well-known and highly regarded blue chip systems integrator and require an IT Specialist / Infrastructure Specialist to join them on a major project b! ased in central London.

They have been won a new project to design, build and install a series of highly complex Broadcast IT / Infrastructure solutions encompassing IT, Networks, Server, Database and Broadcast systems for a high profile client.

The successful candidate will be working closely with the Solutions Architect who is leading this effort and in conjunction with the Technical Architect and other Project Engineers on the Design, Factory Build & Test, Deployment, Integration, Test and of course Go-Live next year!

Key responsibilities: -

• Responsible for Project Design, some Build, Test & Commissioning of IT Centric Broadcast Solutions
• Leading the relevant parts of the customer engagement e.g. technical bid presentations to the Client and Management of Technical Discussions with the client's senior technical teams
• Reporting bandwidth calculations, bottlenecks, SPOFs and performance for a given desig! n and application usage
• Able to diagnose and fault fi! nd issues during implementation testing and customer acceptance (using common diagnostics tools)
• Specialist contribution to and maintenance of risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, resourcing and planning

To be considered for this high profile and challenging role you should meet the following requirements: -

• First class verbal and written communication skills - PLEASE QA YOUR OWN CV!!!
• Authorised to work in the UK
• Strong and demonstrable experience in the Design, Build and Deployment of Enterprise-Wide Solutions covering IT, Network, Firewall / Security, Server and ideally some Applications and Database

Essential skills: -

• Streaming, Web, back-up/resilience/failover, Load-Balancing, database, IPTV would be an advantage
• Network system design & configuration including related topologies (LAN, WAN, SAN, NAS, TCP/IP)
• Microsoft & Linux O/S: Servers, Application Serv! ers &Workstations
• IT system security, resilience, back up & user rights configuration
• Database administration, configuration and tuning would be an advantage
• Demonstrable experience of Software AG WebMethods applications, installation and modelling would be an advantage
• Cisco CCNP/CCDP or equivalent
• Practical experience of designing, implementing and supporting enterprise wide networks
• Experience on various network devices including Cisco Switches (2900 - 6500 and Nexus family), Cisco Routers (800 - 12000) and Cisco PIX/ASA and FWSM firewalls, Cisco VOIP equipment, Wireless LANs
• VPN & Security
• Microsoft MCITP for Windows Server, Linux, Virtualisation
• Application Platforms - DAP/Active Directory
• Database - Oracle, SQL Server

Please note, this role is not full time and will require 1-3 days per week in central London or at their head-office outside London as require. This is f! luid depending on the stage of the project. You may also be utilised on! other projects in the UK or Europe in due course if appropriate & available.
