The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is a regulator ! of health and care professionals and our aim is to protect the public. To do this, we keep a register of health, psychological and social work professionals who meet our standards for their training, professional skills, behaviour and health.
The Council is now seeking to appoint 11 members, including 5 registrant members and 6 lay members , to play a key role in setting the strategy and policy for the HCPC and ensuring we fulfill our statutory duties. The appointments will commence in January 2014, although this is subject to the passage of the necessary legislation.
Lay and Registrant Council Members
You will have experience of strategic planning and collective decision making, the ability to develop strong relationships and be able to uphold the principles of transparency and accountability in all of HCPC’s activities.
Candidates for the registrant roles must be on the HCPC Register and wholly or mainly engaged in the practice, the t! eaching or management of, or research in, one of the professio! ns regulated by the HCPC.
We are looking to recruit people from diverse backgrounds and therefore we welcome and encourage applications from everyone irrespective of age, gender, ethnicity, religion, disability and sexual orientation. We are a UK-wide regulator and therefore would encourage applicants from Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
An attendance allowance of £310 per day and incurred expenses is payable for the roles.
