Department Information
Our client has one of the largest Actuarial Life Practice in the UK and offers a wide range of services t! o life assurance and other financial services companies. Our services include M&A and transaction support services, strategic advice, asset and liability management, and support to companies adapting to an evolving regulatory regime.
We work closely with other parts of the firm to offer our clients an integrated approach to improving their businesses.
You will help the team to develop and expand its offerings to provide services that respond to major regulatory and financial change and transactions and restructuring within the industry.
These include market leading projects in the fields of Solvency II, financial and Capital Modelling, among others.
At the centre of much of our work are sophisticated financial models combining capital markets instruments and insurance liabilities. The positions offer the opportunity to work at the forefront of developing and refining mathematical modelling techniques to meet the needs of our clients. We e! xpect you to qualify as an actuary, for which study support wi! ll be provided.
This position may also appeal to candidates who are interested in Investment Banking.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assisting with the delivery of client engagements as part of a team or working autonomously and reporting into senior team members.
- Taking an active role in research to support the development of client propositions.
- Identifying business development opportunities and escalating to more senior members of the team.
- Assisting with the preparation of client proposals, risk management procedures etc.
- Support efforts in relation to sales and marketing, and development and knowledge management.
- Strong academic background in a numerate subject to a postgraduate level.
- Willingness to study towards an actuarial qualification.
- Good communication skills, written and oral, including the ability to explain complex tech! nical concepts to non-experts
