Imperial College London is looking to appoint a Health Economist in Patient Safety. The successful candidate will support a team of academic and clinical leads and PhD students currently working on a large research programme in incident reporting and the National Reporting and Learning System (NRLS).

The National Reporting and Learning System (NRLS) is a voluntary system for reporting of patient safety incident data. It is the largest source of national patient safety incident data in the world, originally developed by the NHS National Patient Safety Agency and currently hosted at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

The successful applicant will be educated to degree level (MSc or equivalent) in health policy,! economics or a related subject. You will have an excellent un! derstanding of the health system in the UK including its key institutions and current policy debates.

The successful candidate will undertake qualitative and quantitative research to economically evaluate best reporting practices and the impact of reporting and leverage expertise in health economics and policy to perform research into incident reporting and the NRLS. They will also undertake research work carried out in partnership between the Imperial College team and outside research organisations.

This post is full time and fixed term for 1 year, and will be based at the St Mary’s Campus, Paddington.
