Operating cross-functionally and as part of the wider Risk, Audit and Security functions across the Group, the role encompasses all aspects of Security - information, technical, people! and property. Specific responsibilities will include day-to-day involvement in the development, implementation, monitoring, tracking and reporting of the cash and revenue protection framework, crime reduction initiatives, physical security, fraud prevention and investigation, incident management and enabling TCG meet compliance obligations with respect to money laundering.
This role will be expected to be the first line of support in incident management, educating the business in group policy, procedures and ways of working.
Accountabilities
Leadership & Culture
Provide strong, united and inspiring leadership across all areas of function and wider TC-UK&I
Drive employee engagement through a collaborative and empowering leadership approach
Use experience and expertise to make decisions in the best interests of the Thomas Cook Group
Act as a role model in displaying the Thomas Cook values and leadership WOWs in a! ll activity and communication
To work as part of the ! newly formed Group Security function
Support the ‘tone’ set by senior management with respect to Thomas Cook approach and attitude to Security
Help influence change in culture, attitude and approach to Security across the Group
Work collaboratively with other Group and Segment management
Represent Thomas Cook at key external forums, establish relationships across crime prevention agencies
Profit & Growth
Lead activity at a tactical level to drive down cash and revenue losses across the Group
Work towards achieving target savings and reduction in losses across Retail, Group Destination and On-Line environment â€" this may include spot checks, audits, collating results of compliance exercises and general feedback from the business with respect to Security
Support the development and rollout of policies, procedures and WOW to ensure controls are established that track, monitor and minimise any losses i! ncurred by Thomas Cook
Continuously seek cost saving initiatives in crime prevention measures and third party relationships with respect to Security
Develop and/ or collate KPIs, monitoring, tracking and governance with respect cash and revenue loss across the Group.
Customer Insight & Experience
Embed & lead a customer focussed culture, delivering the relevant service for the customer (internal or external), whilst seeking and acting on feedback to make improvements to the customer experience.
Reinforce customer faith, trust and confidence in working with Thomas Cook with respect to the development of clearly defined, well controlled practical structures and procedures around cash handling, on-line security and response to security alerts.
Operational Excellence
Offer first level support to Group functions and retail network in the event of security alerts, incidents, events or occurrences
Accountable ! for performance of own business area and team
Ensure all polic! y and legal requirements are adhered to by operating within a framework of compliance, which protects customers and team and minimises risk to the business
Create a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of own business area
Work with Group Risk, Audit and Business Continuity Planning community to ensure seamless handoff in roles and responsibilities and support as required from across the business.
People Development & Learning
Develop a programme of development and learning that will help meet the needs of the function and encourage employee development
Work towards qualification / accreditation from relevant bodies with respect to functional responsibilities
Define career plans with clearly articulated goals, objectives and targets that will continuously challenge and encourage improvement in all aspects of work delivery
Key Performance Indicators
Expenditure with 3rd part contractors in spec! ific areas of responsibility
Decrease in revenue loss across specific areas of responsibility
Decrease in cash losses across specific areas of responsibility
Number of security alerts / incidents specific areas of responsibility
Sanctions placed upon Thomas Cook from relevant regulatory bodies specific areas of responsibility
